An arm and a leg

After a grueling week of cutting and sticking for a uni project, I'm finding myself moulding into my bed, completely at my blankets whim, hence my lack of posting... apologies!
Whilst in my solemn state, I've come across this amazing DIY tutorial that I must share! At first glance i just thought great trousers, without realizing they are actually sweater sleeves sewn onto cycling shorts...

DIY possibility?

Easy DIY

All this studding we're seeing everywhere is one massive cry to the recession feelers amongst our public to start DIYing. All it takes is a pair of cheap black Primark boots/shoes, studs from ebay, an awl to pierce holes with and an eye focused on keeping the studs in line. That's really all there is to it!
I'm currently in the process and will post a photo of the final product once the process is completed.

It's All About Socks

The rule of thumb was always clear, don't wear socks with heals/sandals. If you do, a cruel onlooker may stare and even point at you. Sadly that's life, there are rules we must live by and accept - like don't steal.

Well ha to that say Burberry and Wang and show us all that socks can be that perfect finish to an already impecible outfit..

Personally, I'm a massive fan of thick thigh high socks. I think this love started when I saw a photo of Sarah Jessica Parker wearing a pair last year or the year before for the first Sex and the City movie. American Apparel is definitely the best place to buy a pair.

After coming across this DAY Birger et Mikkelsen ad I immediately had to have a pair of grey thigh highs with a black lining. So quick DIY time popped up and hey presto I have a pair.

Slashed

I was doing a little wardrobe clean out yesterday and came across a stack of boring, five year old jeans. So I blew the dust off of the pile and stood in front of the mirror playing dress up.
Number one - charity, number two - charity, number three - keep, maybe. As my keep pile mounts up, I know I'm falling into my same old trap - a pile of jeans I'm not going to wear. A DIY moment rose from the ground. I've been seeing slashed jeans in quite a few places Acne jeans, a few blog posts, and thus a slashed jean is my new project.
A trip around my house showed I don't have a blade/fabric knife that would have made my job a lot easier. Instead, I settled for a large pair of scissors to make the slits and nail scissors to scrape the slits and pull out thread.
40 minutes later and the result is quite fun
